Darren Leiman
Personal Development and Lifestyle CoachHelping you find more joy
Hi, I’m Darren! My mission is to help driven professionals find more joy in each day through the power of habit and self-mastery.
About Me
I’m a 32 year old personal development coach from Honolulu, Hawaii and currently based between Los Angeles, California and Taipei, Taiwan. I’m also a CPA, martial arts life-long student (Muay Thai and Judo), and an individual that has learned to love the intentional grind lifestyle that ultimately leads to the next level up.
I wasn’t always like this and actually loved taking the easy path. It took a lot of pain and countless hours of reading books, going through tough experiences, and working with my own coaches to turn my life around. I’m here to pay it forward and help you too!
My Values & Beliefs
Positivity
Be positive and proactive by always looking for the GOOD in all situations and taking action.
Growth
The only way is up. By being relentless in improving 1% each day, we will earn the confidence of a life well-lived.
Simplicity
Keep it simple. Make it matter. It’s how we keep the discipline and fire going.
My Story
When I was growing up, I thought that as long as you obtained a decent education and put in some effort, “success” in ALL areas of life would be guaranteed.
In college, I consistently took the easy path by skipping classes, partying, and constantly putting the future on hold for any exciting social activities that came up.
It would be accurate to describe me as “going with the flow”, inconsistent, lacking self-discipline, and an addict of short-term gratification.
By the time I graduated, I had no job lined up, a sub-par lifestyle, and almost had no idea on how to get out of this less than ideal situation.
How did I get here? It was all because I took the EASY path.
I came to the realization that the EASY path of short-term pleasure had led me to the HARD path of long-term pain.

The Come Back
I took a gap year to wrap up my CPA exam requirements and to think more about how I could change my life.
I re-picked up a book called 7 Habits of Highly Effective People that my dad had previously given to me that I never quite finished.
Habit #2, “Begin with the End in Mind,” stuck out and made me think that when I reached 80 years old, I wanted to be proud of myself for a life well-lived. A life where I was able to reach my full potential and as a result easily take care of and happily laugh alongside my family and friends.
I knew to reach this dream I NEEDED to change and start practicing the self-improvement principles I had learned, as well as persisting through any challenges. This decision to be committed to growth slowly changed the trajectory of my life and set me off on a relentless pursuit to master personal development and habits.
There were times when I wanted to quit and thought I could take it easy, but I knew if I stopped, the HARD path would be there waiting for me and thus I pushed forward.
Fortunately, by trusting the process and the guidance of amazing coaches in my life, my positive lifestyle habits were ingrained into my mind. Into my lifestyle. Into a part of who I am.
Current Happier Times
Fast forward to today in 2025.
I wouldn’t have made it here smiling without my habits.
I am still consistent in the daily habits I deem important and feel a greater sense of control in directing my life the way I want it by putting in the work and earning it.
By honoring the practice and putting in the repetition in my habits, they have protected and powered me through several grind-filled public accounting busy seasons, brutal tech sales quarters, long-term relationship break-ups, and living abroad as a digital nomad (Puerto Rico, Indonesia, and Taiwan).
Although I have made progress in my own personal development and lifestyle, I know there is still much more to learn and work to do.
It took me 10+ solid years of learning and applying self-improvement principles through tough and disappointing experiences until I created a system that could handle a majority of what life throws at us.
I want to help you shorten the learning curve and create a personalized system that works for you.
Why leave who we could be to chance, rather than plan and create who we were meant to be with intention?
If you’re ready to level up your lifestyle and habit game, let’s talk!
